Kanye and Karol have been friends since the beginning of high school. In college, the two decided to become a couple have have in inseparable since.  As senior year quickly quickly comes to an end, it's time to start becoming adults.  He's an working on a finance degree while interning at MP Enterprises while she's focusing on media studies along with her own radio show on campus.

Although the two love each other, an unsual shift in interest occurs and they feel each other drifting apart. This usually happens from time to time as most couples go through it but this time they never feel the urge to address the issue. Kanye's focused on finding the right position that centers around her schedule while she seems more focused on herself.  She begins to look for positions outside the state, itching to relocate.  Although this bothers Kanye deeply, he doesn't say much and pushes her to do whatever she feels is right.

One afternoon while in the city with Kanye, she gets an call from a random number.  Ignoring it, they continue their day crossing stuff off their "let's do something" list they've been building for years.  The next day she wakes up to a missed call from the same mysterious number.  Not paying much attention to it, she goes about to her day like it's another day.  A third time she gets a call and finally picks up.  It's an offer for an interview for a to be a co-host for a radio station out in Chicago, a few hours away from where she lives now.  Excited and hesitant at the same time, she asks when they want her to come in.  Tomorrow would be perfect.  Not telling Kanye yet, she accepts the invitation to learn more about the station and see how well she fits.

Fast forward to them together one night, she ends up revealing what happened and how she did, which the feedback was great. They feel she's a perfect fit for the station and would like to add her on to the team next month.  He's excited for her until she reveals the location.  Hiding his emotions, he tells her to go for it.  She's still hesitant, but Kanye tries to convincer her this is a major footstep for her in something she wants to do.  With the recent feeling of disconnection, she's a bit thrown off by his reaction, as if he's not even fighting for her to stay.  He wants to know more about company and details on how it all went but she just decides to change the topic.

That weekend, she spends most of her time with her mom and cousin trying to figure out what to do, but it's obvious that she's made the decision already.  She calls the station on Monday to accept the offer.  They want her to start faster than expected, being 2 weeks from now.  Unsure how to react to the shocking update, she agrees to it.  That night she sees Kanye at his crib. While watching tv together, she's unsure how to break the news to him.  She finally finds the courage and says that they want her to start in two weeks.  He asks what she told him, she agreed to it.  Didn't have much of a choice.  He's confused and angry thinking he had more time to be with her, hoping she'd change her mind.  He asks what he's supposed to do now that she's leaving.  How's it all going to work out.  This changes everything.  She then gets upset that now he wants to show that he cares.  Now that it's too late, that's when he wants to show emotion and consideration.  The argument then shifts to the topic of the recent feeling of drifting apart and how this constant cycle disconnection is getting old.  It gets pretty heated to the suggestion of breaking up.  Heated in the moment, he agrees, she agrees, they agree, she bounces, she cries, that's that.

Damn.

They don't talk until the following week.  She hits him up just to check in and give an update that she's found a place out there.  He's very short with his answers but she's trying push the convo as best as she can.  She asks if she can see him soon but he hits her with the I have a lot of work to catch up on this week. Okay no problem.  I'll talk to you later.  Later on that night he texts her saying he wasn't lying about work but he'd like to see her next week, which is her last week around.

All in-between that time and seeing her just some, idk, sad shit.  Her packing her things, him in his room looking at old pics. Sad shit.  He hits her up Tuesday asking when's a good time to see her, she says Thursday would work best. Thursday comes around he picks her up and takes her downtown.  In the beginning the ride is pretty quiet.  They both apologize for overreacting but still agree that being together isn't what's best for them.  At least not for right now.  This hurts both of them deeply but he tells her lets just focus on right now and try to make the best of the night.  First stop he takes her too is the observation deck.  It's always been her favorite spot to go and perfect for her to get the best view before she leaves.  While she's staring into the city, he sneaks a few off guard pics for him to keep for himself.  Followed by that, he takes her to this bar, Saturn, she's always wanted to go to.  He's never understood why, it looks like any regular bar, but takes her there anyway.  They do karaoke, take a few shots and hit up the Photo Booth kissing each other.  Realizing how late it is, he drives her back home while holding hands.  There's no music playing just them two enjoying each other's presence.   Hitting nothing but green lights down 1st Ave., a red light finally slows down the pacing of it all.  Kanye's sitting there and starts to cry.  Not balling but just enough for her to notice and ask what's wrong.  He simply says I wish you weren't leaving.  Me too, me too.  Finally gets to her house and they sit there for a few mins before she goes in.  He asks her what time she's leaving tomorrow, how long is the drive, how far's the station from her new place, does she have pics, etc.  He then makes a joke to make light of the situation before she gets out.  They kiss, they hug, that's that.

Her first day is that Monday morning at 5:30 and he's all tuned in.  Once the afternoon came about he called her to let her know how great she sounded and they just bullshit over the phone.  The following 2 weeks they chat but it's still an awkward feeling for them.  One weekend he decides to go and surprise her which made her ecstatic.  She showed him around, they went out to eat, got a few drinks, made the most of the two days.  The second night they slept together she told him that this doesn't mean they're together now.  It's not the right time and they're going to need space.  Aware of this but bothered that she's mentioning it, he leaves on bad terms.

After that she would try to text or call him to try to keep the friendship aspect there but she can tell he's hurt by it all.  The following couple of months they drift apart again not talking to each other at all.  He gets a full time position at MP while she's working on building her blog and brand.  Regardless of it all, he listens to her every morning and reads every post she puts out.

One weekend, he decides to let loose a bit, catch up with some friends and get a few drinks.  The night is going well until the ride back home.  The radio plays a song that reminds him of Karol and he decides to call her.  She doesn't pick up but he leaves a voicemail saying hey, It's me. I just wanted to see how you are and how everything's going.  I hope you're doing well.  I'm sorry for calling you don't need to call back.  Take care.

She wakes up in the middle of the night and listens to the voicemail.  Wanting to call him back but knowing it will do more harm then good, she puts her phone down and cries herself to sleep.  While it's been some time and she's made some new friends out there, still feels lonely as ever.  It hurts that she knows he's hurt and she's the reason for it, but hurts her even more that she's lost her best friend at the same time.

Time passes by and  by not receiving a call back, he learns to avoid doing that again.  He tries to move on day to day staying distracted but nothing seems to stick.  The holidays then come around and she calls him one night.  He picks up right away to a, hey. Hey. I'm in town for the weekend if you want to meet up.  Umm, yeah I'd love to. How's tomorrow work? Sounds good I'll meet you at your house.  They go grab a bite and catch up.  She's telling him all she's been up to, her radio stories, people she's met and he acts surprised although he knows almost everything being that he listens every morning.  She then thinks that she's going to get a promotion soon as the main host of the morning show.  He assures her she's bound to get the position, encouraging her etc.  He then tells her what he's been up to, how's the job going and how he's been hitting the gym lately.  The night seems to go well.  She feels at ease thinking he's doing and feeling better about the situation until he takes her home and tells her he can't do this.  The year is coming to an end and he thinks it's best to leave it all behind.  Once New Years hits, they should both just completely lose contact with each other and have a fresh start.

Hurt but respecting and understanding his request and decision, they say goodbye to each other and officially part ways.  He spends his New Years with his friends while she spent it with her family before heading back to Chicago for work the next day.

Years pass and he's rising up the corporate ladder while she's killing it on the station.  Although they haven't spoken in so long, Kanye still starts his mornings listening to her, and she ends her night with the Photo Booth pictures beside her bed.  One day at the office he gets called in for a meeting with the board of the division.  They're so impressed with all that he's done with and for the company, they offer him a CEO position.  The only downfall is he would have to relocate to Chicago.  Without any hesitation, he says he'll accept the position and asks when he can start.

Fast forward to him packing his things getting ready to leave, he waits until 5:30 a.m. to start his drive, catching Karol's right before his drive.
